Thymol is obtained from the thyme plant. Thymol crystals can be used for a variety of reasons. Thymol can be used in toothpaste and mouthwash as an antiseptic. Thymol is used as a natural pesticide and for preventing mold in bee colonies. Thymol is also an effective natural disinfectant.

Odor Description: Thymol has a sharp, clean ordor reminiscent of Thyme essential oil.

Appearance: White to slightly yellow crystals.

Soluble in alcohol and oils.

Insolubable in water and DPG.

Common Uses: Thymol naturally occurs in many essential oils. It is used as a flavorant in many foods, candies, and personal care products.
